YIT has signed the Anti-Corruption Charter of Russian Business
YIT Uralstroi, a subsidiary of YIT in Russia, has signed the Anti-Corruption Charter of Russian Business. The Anti-Corruption Charter of Russian Business has been established by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE), Business Russia and OPORA Russia. The members of the charter include major Russian industrial companies as well as legal and consulting firms.
“The principles of the anti-corruption charter are completely in line with the business principles of the YIT Group, and now can be put into action. Our joining the Charter further emphasizes our commitment to action against corruption. We oppose all forms of corruption and take every measure against it. We have total zero tolerance against the grey economy”, says Teemu Helppolainen, who is the head of YIT business operations in Russia.
The operations of the member companies are guided by twelve anti-corruption principles. The companies commit to promoting legal and social sanctions for corruption at all levels of society. The charter requires companies to implement anti-corruption programs monitored and evaluated by their management. These include training for employees and the efficient monitoring of financial administration and procurement. In addition, contacts with the authorities and other companies must be established in accordance with anti-corruption principles.
