YIT to build Liuhtari school in Lapua

YIT and the City of Lapua have signed a contract on the construction of a primary school building in Lapua. The new building, which has a floor area of 3,800 square metres, will replace the old school building, already demolished. The value of this turnkey contract is close to EUR 8 million. Construction work will begin in September 2019 and the new school will be completed by the end of 2020.
The new school in Liuhtari will have 180 primary school students, 30 preschool students and 34 special school students. The number of staff will be 50. The building will also house sports facilities open to the public in the evenings.
YIT has previously built a sports and event venue – the Patruuna Arena – in the centre of Lapua. It was opened in 2011.
