YIT to construct a storage and office property for Makita in Tallinn

YIT and Makita have signed a contract on the construction of office and warehouse facilities in Tallinn, Estonia. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 24 million.
The surface area of the two-storey property to be located in the Gate Tallinn industrial park will be approximately 23,500 square metres. Maintenance facilities and a training centre will also be built in the property.
Construction will begin in January 2022, and the project is set to be completed in April 2023.
“Cooperation with the customer has been excellent, and we have been able to make quick decisions, when necessary. The customer’s wishes have always been taken into consideration, and the planning and preparation process has been very smooth,” says Reimo Ehrstein, Construction Director at YIT Estonia.
Solar panels will be installed on the roof of the property, and a solar energy park will be built in its vicinity. The property will be built to meet the requirements of energy class A.
Cherry trees, important to Japanese culture and symbolising a new beginning, will be planted in the yard.
