YIT to start new road and city maintenance contracts in October

This year, YIT has won road maintenance contracts in Kristiinankaupunki, Oulu, Loimaa, Keuruu, Pello, Siikalatva, Lahti and Jyväskylä. Following the contracts, YIT’s market share in road management and maintenance is 26.2% (ELY contracts).

In addition to the state road maintenance contracts, YIT won the southern regional contract of the city of Lahti.

The contracts start October 1, 2017 and cover five years. The total value of the contracts is over EUR 100 million and the contracts are recorded to the order backlog of the third quarter.

The maintenance contracts are quality-liability contracts, with the exception of the road maintenance contract of Lahti, which is executed with a maintenance management model. In the management model, decision making is implemented together between the parties, which enables deeper cooperation between the orderer and the contractor.
