As one of the leading suppliers of golfing apparel, at Function18 we strive to stay at the top of our game, so visiting the recent Manchester Golf Show on 24 April allowed us to peruse some of the industry insiders and see what they had to offer.

As the North West's biggest golfing show, this two-day event was now in its third year, with the official charity designated as Prostate Cancer UK. Here are some of the highlights of the show…

Marvels in Technology

The Manchester Golf Show highlighted how much advances in technology have improved and enhanced the game, with aerial photography company T2Pin using video technology to market some of the country's top golf courses. Based in Nottinghamshire and Wiltshire, T2Pin specialises in taking aerial shots and videos of golf courses to offer unique perspectives for marketing purposes. As part of a bigger company, ocuair.com, T2Pin provided informative demonstrations at the show.

A fantastic demonstration was also provided by Swing Click Golf on the main stage. This innovative company makes straps that attach to a golfer's arm, helping them to perfect their swing naturally and effectively for improved performance in the game.

Foresights Sports also proved a big hit at the event, where it hosted a competition and performance-simulation demonstrations. Foresights Sports is a leader in golfing technology, producing launch monitors to reproduce true ball flight and performance-simulation solutions for individuals or businesses - ideal as a gift for any golfing enthusiast. For other golfing gift ideas, we also have plenty of tempting options.

Playing Golf

As you would expect at a Golf Show, a number of golf clubs and courses featured. One of the standout courses, in our opinion, was Bentham Golf Club. Located in North Yorkshire, Bentham Golf Club is often regarded as the Augusta of the Yorkshire Dales thanks to its stunning scenery. For anyone looking to see what Bentham has to offer, the club features a handful of open days, including the first weekend in May and then later on in August.

For something a little less competitive but no less entertaining, Hire Crazy Golf made an appearance at the show. Based in the North West, this company lets you hire out a crazy golf course for functions such as parties, team-building exercises or community events. It's a great way to introduce younger audiences to the game of golf.

A number of coaches also attended the event, where free golf lessons were on tap for those looking to improve their swing and gain expert tips and advice from the professionals.

Golf Monthly

Leading golfing portal Golf Monthly inevitably made an appearance at the show. Two of its top coaches were on hand to give free lessons in their popular Swing Clinics.

With shows previously held in London and Birmingham, the popularity of the Golf Show in Manchester means many of its visitors, including us, will be eager to return again next year.
