Media Alert Note: Consecration of the Bishop of Burnley
Monday 2nd February 2015, York Minster
The Reverend Phillip North, currently Team Rector of the Parish of Old Saint Pancras in the Diocese of London, will be consecrated as the Bishop of Burnley in the Diocese of Blackburn on Monday 2nd February 2015. The service will be conducted by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, assisted by the Bishop of Chichester and the Bishops of Beverley and Pontefract.
Accreditation
Journalists and photographers wishing to attend the service will need official accreditation from York Minster to gain entry to the Minster and the media positions. Contact the Communications Team for an accreditation form. Journalists and photographers should report to the West End of the Minster on arrival to pick up their press pass.
Media arrangements
Print journalists
- Allocated seating will be reserved for accredited print journalists wishing to attend the service. Journalists will be directed to their seats on arrival
- Please use social media in a responsible manner during the service
- No recording devices are to be brought into the service.
Still photographers and film crews
A small number of photographic positions will be available for accredited stills photographers and news and video cameras in specially designated areas inside the Minster. Media will be directed to these points on arrival. Camera operators are asked to note the following:
- Flash cannot be used during hymns or prayer
- Movement can only take place during music and with permission from the Communications Team member present
- Please use social media in a responsible manner during the service
- Photographers, film crews and video journalists are asked to arrive no later than 30 minutes before the service starts to set up.
Parking for TV Vans
- Location 1 - Chapter House Yard, York Minster
There is a small amount of parking in Chapter House Yard. Requests for parking must be submitted to the Communications Team in advance and no later than 2pm on Friday 30th January. Please provide vehicle registration details when submitting your request.
- Location 2 – South Piazza
This location is on the South Side of the Minster and parking is available for 3-4 vehicles. Requests for parking must be submitted to the Communications Team in advance and no later than 2pm on Friday 30th January. Please provide vehicle registration details when submitting your request.
Music
Up to 90 seconds of any music can be recorded for broadcast without necessitating a recording contract.
