All three events are organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and take place at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.  

Springtime Live Sunday 22 March 2015

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s event aimed particularly at children and families takes place on Sunday 22 March and will include plenty of hands on activities, farm animals and plenty of entertainment.  This will be the second Springtime Live.

The Great Yorkshire Show, Tuesday 14 – Thursday 16 July, 2015

England’s premier annual agricultural and rural event, The Great Yorkshire Show, takes place on Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 July, 2015. More than 130,000 visitors are expected to flock through the gates for an entertaining and informative day experiencing all aspects of farming and country life. This will be the 157th Great Yorkshire Show.

The event is a shop window for the agricultural industry as well as a great day out for the family with competitive classes, demonstrations of country skills and exciting ring displays.

Visitors can enjoy:

    • Main Ring Attraction for 2015 - The Shetland Pony Grand National
    • The Band of the Royal Armoured Corps
    • Food Hall with some of the country’s finest food & drink
    • Fashion shows with national and regional designers
    • Music from a range of bands
    • Cookery theatre
    • Garden Show
    • Top class show jumping and equine classes
    • Demonstrations of country skills – including dry stone walling, sheep shearing, fly fishing, and gundog training
    • Hundreds of stands for plenty of shopping!

…. and more than 5,000 of Britain’s best cattle, sheep and pigs competing for the coveted championship awards.

Countryside Live, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2015

The 13th Countryside Live event will take place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2015. The event will include competitive classes for livestock, equine, farriery, pigeon and poultry, dog agility demonstrations, a horticultural show, and dozens of stands for pre-Christmas shopping. The Northern Show Cross Finals, introduced at the 2012 event, will again feature and also the show jumping talent competition hosted by Graham and Tina Fletcher.

Parking is free and extensive for all three events, and dogs, other than assistance dogs, are not allowed on the showground.

YORKSHIRE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY: 

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society was formed in 1837 and is a charity dedicated to supporting the farming industry and rural life. This ranges from educational initiatives to the Society’s Nuffield Scholarships to hosting the Yorkshire Rural Support Network and Future Farmers of Yorkshire. The Society is based at the Regional Agricultural Centre, Harrogate; the RAC includes Fodder, the Society’s award winning regional food shop and café which opened in June 2009.

The Society is the organiser of the annual farming and country showcase, the Great Yorkshire Show and its sister event, Countryside Live. Both take place at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire and are flagship events for agriculture and rural life.
