Diary Dates for England’s Top Countryside Event

Preparations for England’s premier farming and countryside showcase are well underway and promises a fascinating look at rural life with plenty of hands on activities, as well as a ‘not to be missed’ insight into the very latest in the agricultural industry.

The Great Yorkshire Show runs from Tuesday 12 – Thursday 14 July when around 130,000 visitors from the UK and abroad are expected over the three days.

Show Director, Charles Mills said: “The Great Yorkshire Show is the flagship event for the industry and combines a social day out with the chance for farmers to do business and see the latest machinery and equipment, superb livestock and fascinating demonstrations.”

On the timetable for what will be the 158th event is:

    • More than 8,000 animals competing in the classes –from rams to rabbits to racehorses

    • Around 1,200 stands selling everything from combine harvesters to country clothing

    • Exciting demonstrations including sheep shearing, dry stone walling and cheese-making

    • Top class showjumping with international riders

    • Delicious regional food and a new food theatre in the new exhibition hall

    • Cutting edge designs on the catwalk in the fashion shows

… and much much more.

The Great Yorkshire Show is organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and takes place at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday 1 March – for the latest details see www.greatyorkshireshow.co.uk

The Great Yorkshire Show and its sister events Springtime Live and Countryside Live, are organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society as part of its year round work supporting and promoting the farming and rural industry. 2016 will see the 158th Great Yorkshire Show, and dates are Tuesday 12 – Thursday 14 July, the venue is the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.
