Napa Valley Restaurant Month is part of California Restaurant Month, designated by the California Travel & Tourism Commission (CTTC).  Twenty destinations across California, from the desert and coast to wine country and High Sierra, are hosting restaurant weeks this January.  “California is the top U.S. destination for culinary travel, so with these deals there’s never been a better time for foodies to visit California,” said Caroline Beteta, CTTC president & CEO.  “Since we produce 90 percent of American wine and more than 400 agricultural crops, we attract some of the greatest chefs who enjoy creating with the freshest ingredients – which whets visitors’ appetites for more. Enjoying the California foodie lifestyle this January is a New Year’s resolution we can all stick to!”

Last year travelers in California spent $21.3 billion on food and beverages, more than for any other spending segment and constituting 26 percent of all visitor spending last year (Source: Dean Runyan Associates), Beteta said. About The Napa Valley
The Napa Valley is home to the founders of America’s fine wine industry – legendary entrepreneurs who showed the world that the art of winemaking had crossed continents – and is prized for its natural beauty, phenomenal culinary scene, world-class hotel accommodations, robust arts community, and one-of-a-kind wellness experiences including the region’s famed spas, mud baths and healing geo-thermal springs.  The word Napa means ‘land of plenty’ in the language of its first known inhabitants, the Wappo Indians, and the Valley itself is one of the most precious agricultural preserves on earth - a place that moves in perfect synchrony with the seasons.  The area was voted the World’s #1 Food & Wine Destination in the recent 2010 TripAdvisor® Travelers' Choice® Awards, and is internationally recognized as one of only nine “Great Wine Capitals.”  Visit www.LegendaryNapaValley.com for more information or to download the new Visit Napa Valley iPhone App and join The Napa Valley community on Facebook and YouTube.
