Zacco announces new Chairman of the Board
During the Zacco board meeting yesterday, October 27th, Stefan Ölander was appointed new Chairman of the Board, taking over responsibility from the former chairman Anders Folkvard. The changes are effective from 2011-10-27.
Yesterday, Stefan Ölander, external owner and board member since May 2011, was elected new Chairman by the board. Anders Folkvard, who has served the Zacco board for ten years, leaves the board.
- The IP industry is very interesting and its visibility and importance is increasing. The value of intellectual property, such as trademarks and patents, is getting more apparent which increases the demand for related services. I believe that we will see substantial changes among the IP firms and I am very glad to be part of Zacco in such exciting times. I would also like to thank Anders Folkvard who has been a loyal chairman during many years, says Stefan Ölander.
A new member of the board, Hans Blomberg, has also been appointed. Hans Blomberg represents the newly announced investor Eterna Invest. The changes in the board reflect both the changes in ownership of Zacco, with two new external owners, and the strategic focus for Zacco that includes growth and increased brand awareness.
About Stefan Ölander
Stefan Ölander has a background as communication director with SEB and Kinnevik. Stefan is also the founder of Rewir, Swedens leading branding agency. Stefan sold Rewir in 2006 to Intellecta, a communication group listed on the Stockholm OMX. Stefan Ölander was a member of Intellecta’s group management team until last autumn (2010) and was Chairman of the Board in six of Intellecta’s consultancy firms in Sweden and Denmark. Besides his investment in Zacco, Stefan has invested in a seaside restaurant outside Stockholm and in SolTech Energi, a solar energy company, where he will soon be a member of the Board. In addition to this, Stefan has also invested in property.
About Hans Blomberg
Hans Blomberg is an experienced investor and has been involved in several companies’ journeys from small and unknown to established and successful companies. Hans Blomberg was one of the founders of European Equity Partners (EEP) – a venture capital company within technology and healthcare. At EEP Hans were responsible for the company’s investments in Packetfront, Prenax and Transmode. He has also worked with M&A at Merril Lynch. Today Hans Blomberg is one of the partners of Eterna Invest.
