Zenterio integrates the latest release of Microsoft’s PlayReady, the leading solution for secure video distribution
The license agreement with Microsoft – regarding the new version of its content protection technology PlayReady – covers expanded compatibility with PlayReady, which is the market-leading solution for secure distribution of video-on-demand and other OTT services.
Zenterio, which develops an independent software platform for interactive TV, today announced that its software platform Zenterio OS will support the latest release of Microsoft PlayReady. Zenterio is an independent software supplier within the interactive TV services sector.
PlayReady is a leading industry standard for protecting streaming of subscription-based content that’s used by leading IPTV providers such as Netflix, Viaplay, C More, and HBO.
“Integrating the latest PlayReady version is an example of how we continue to strengthen our offering to TV operators by increasing compatibility with leading technology standards,” says Marco Frattolin, VP Product Management at Zenterio. “The PlayReady distribution solution is a de facto industry standard. And we continue to ensure that Zenterio OS is a flexible, scalable, and future-proof software solution that operators need for quickly offering new interactive TV services to their customers.”
“We are excited that Zenterio has chosen to incorporate the latest release of PlayReady into their software platform Zenterio OS for secure distribution of video-on-demand and other OTT services,” says George Ayad, Director of Partnerships for Microsoft PlayReady.
The new agreement with Microsoft means that Zenterio’s customers, such as operators, can launch TV services, proprietary and third-party, that are compatible with the latest release of PlayReady and that are accessible from a variety of devices.
