Nordic ZetaDay 2010   Focus on customer communication in retail stores, with futuristic media channels and Digital Signage

Developing customer contact both inside and outside their stores is becoming an increasingly important task for the retail and service sectors. Statistics show that investment in store communications is growing faster than in the traditional channels, and new types of media are appearing. Therefore communication with customers in stores will be the focus for Nordic ZetaDay 2010, which will take place on 25 November in the Grand Hotel, Stockholm.

According to IRM, Institutet för Reklam- och Mediestatistik (the Swedish Institute for Advertising and Media Statistics), investments in store promotions, including store media, increased by almost 50% in 2006-2009 despite weakening of the market, while the total investment in media fell. Particularly rapid growth took place in Digital Signage, which is an efficient and measurable media channel aimed at customers in retail stores.

Participants in the ZetaDay programme in 2010 include Ingrid Jonasson Blank, who until recently was Deputy Managing Director of ICA Sverige AB and has long experience as the largest purchaser of media in the Swedish market. Other participants will be representatives of the retail trade, media agencies, media producers and brand name suppliers.

Assistant Professor Jens Nordfält, who is researching into how digital active media influences customers, will, with support from his own research and that of others, advise on how retail chains can communicate with their customers and explain how digital active media influences consumers and their purchasing decisions in the stores they visit.

The day will conclude with a panel debate between representatives of the retail trade, media agencies, brand name suppliers and researchers. The focus is on how to find the right mix of media to build up brands in the store and boost sales of individual products.

The initiative for Nordic ZetaDay comes from ZetaDisplay AB (publ), which is the leading Nordic supplier of platforms for Digital Signage.

- The communication with customers in stores is becoming ever more important for the retail and service sectors, while the level of investment in digital active media is increasing. It creates a desire for more knowledge among the major players in the market, who need to select the right media channels and be able to use them efficiently. Therefore we want to share experience from both companies and researchers, explains Leif Liljebrunn, ZetaDisplay Group Manager.

Nordic ZetaDay is now being arranged for the third year in a row, and is expected as in previous years to attract a large number of representatives from retailing, media agencies and major brand name suppliers.

ZetaDisplay is a leading supplier of Digital Signage within retailing and in public environments in the Nordic market. ZetaDisplay has about 40 employees and has continued in recent years to grow in Sweden, while having subsidiaries in Denmark, Norway and Finland.
