Zircotec continues its partnership with Andrew Jordan, as he returns to defend the 2014 team title for Triple Eight Race Engineering
Jordan moves to MG factory-backed team, retaining the support of Zircotec, a world-leading heat management technology firm based at the site of the former MG plant in Abingdon
British Touring Car Championship team Triple Eight Race Engineering, the current title holder is set to take full advantage of new technical support from the leading heat management experts at Zircotec. The coatings specialist continues its support of 2013 driver’s champion Andrew Jordan as he makes a return to his former team. Jordan’s new MG6 GT race car will receive Zircotec’s highly effective heat-insulating, ThermoHold® ceramic coating, to the exhaust manifold, alongside extensive use of innovative ZircoFlex® heat shielding material. The technology will be essential in reducing excess heat surrounding the 300 bhp-plus turbocharged engine, improving both performance and reliability, with durability to last throughout the 30-round season.
“I’m feeling incredibly motivated for 2015, having retained my key supporters in the move to Triple Eight,” says Jordan. “Zircotec’s ThermoHold® coatings in particular have proven to be highly beneficial over the past few seasons, and it’s great to know the firm is still fully behind us with technical backing. The MG was the most competitive front-wheel-drive car on the grid last year, so I look forward to making further improvements this season with my experience and supporters.”
“We’re proud to continue our technical support for Jordan as he makes the transition to a team with 23 titles to its name,” says Zircotec’s managing director Terry Graham. “Effectively managing heat is a fundamental aspect of reliability in today’s high-performance touring cars. Not only will our coatings help to bring out the very best performance potential from the MG, but our collaboration also ties in well with the marque, as we’re based on the site of the former MG factory in Abingdon. For us this is the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our world-leading coatings and heat shields.”
With confidence riding high, and with the proven heat management technology on board, Jordan will have eyes on a second driver’s title once the season gets underway on 4th-5th April at Brands Hatch. TV coverage will be across ITV and ITV4 throughout the year.
