Tierärztliche Klinik Bretzenheim an der Nahe and Kleintierorthopädie Wiesbaden in Germany join AniCura

AniCura, one of Europe’s leading providers of high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, acquires Tierärztliche Klinik Bretzenheim an der Nahe in Rhineland-Palatinate and Kleintierorthopädie Wiesbaden. The partnership strengthens AniCura’s offer to pet owners in the region and gives both Tierärztliche Klinik Bretzenheim an der Nahe and Kleintierorthopädie Wiesbaden further possibilities to invest in continuing education and clinical development.

In 1985 Dr. Frank Höhner acquired a small animal clinic in Bad Kreuznach. In 1996 the clinic moved to newly built facilities in Bretzenheim and in 2012 the business expanded further by a specialised orthopaedic practice in Wiesbaden.

Tierärztliche Klinik Bretzenheim an der Nahe operates as first line and referral clinic, while Kleintierorthopädie Wiesbaden serves as specialised referral clinic only. Both facilities operate as individual businesses but share knowledge and veterinary competence. The team consists of approximately 30 veterinary professionals, of which 10 are veterinarians, offering senior expertise in orthopaedics, surgery, internal medicine, rheumatology, dermatology and cardiology. A total of ca 25 000 patients, first-line and referral, are admitted every year from the Rhine-Main region as well as adjacent countries. The facilities are fully equipped with CT (Computed Tomography), radiation equipment and ultrasound. Tierärztliche Klinik Bretzenheim an der Nahe is also offering around-the-clock emergency care.

Dr. Höhner is an orthopaedic surgeon, trained by the late renowned Dr. Barclay Slocum in the United States. He is involved in international orthopaedic development work and was among the first in Europe to practice artificial joint surgery on small animals. Kleintierorthopädie Wiesbaden is, at present, the only practice in Germany offering artificial joint surgery. The practice is also unique in limiting the number of patients to maintain the highest possible customer service and care at all times.

─ Partnership is a natural development to us since we are convinced that the future of veterinary medicine lies in cooperation. We look very much forward to be part of a group of professional clinics in Germany and around Europe. This doesn’t mean we will change our way of thinking or working, it means we will improve by finding synergies and borderless knowledge exchange, says Dr. Frank Höhner, Practice Manager Tierärztliche Klinik Bretzenheim an der Nahe and Kleintierorthopädie Wiesbaden.

─ We are very pleased to welcome Tierärztliche Klinik Bretzenheim an der Nahe and Kleintierorthopädie Wiesbaden to the AniCura family. Their competence and friendly, collaborative approach provides a good fit with AniCura and strengthens our offer of high quality veterinary care in a central part of Germany, says Peter Dahlberg, CEO AniCura.
