ELEKTA RECEIVES ORDERS FOR LEKSELL GAMMA KNIFE(R) IN GREECE AND ITALY VALUED AT SEK 70 MILLION

Elekta has signed agreements to deliver Leksell Gamma Knife(R) equipment to Greece and Italy. The agreements include delivery of the first Leksell Gamma Knife to Greece and the fourth to Italy. Included is also an upgrade of another installation in Italy. The total order value is approximately SEK 70 M. The deliveries are planned for this and the next fiscal year.

"The demand for non-invasive neurosurgery with Leksell Gamma Knife is increasing and the recent agreements for delivery of equipment to Greece and Italy are a great success", ends Gerry van Oortmarssen.

Elekta had at the end of January 2002 installed 157 Leksell Gamma Knife units worldwide of which 21 in Europe.
