New York (November 7, 2011) Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel Architects, PC (GKV), a New York-based award-winning architecture firm, has completed a modern, new space for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s New York headquarters, located at 599 Lexington Ave.  The renovation of the 22,000 sq. ft. space took place in multiple phases with construction beginning in September 2010 and has recently been completed.

GKV’s design utilized the global standards of Commonwealth Bank of Australia.  Areas include the elevator lobby, reception, boardroom, dining room, executive and core restrooms as well as the trading floor. The elevator lobby features acid etched glass and silk-screened logos while the reception area evokes a modern and high-tech design aesthetic with a large-scale video wall.  Web laser-cut vinyl designs were applied to glass office fronts to create translucency while allowing for privacy and ushering in natural light.
