Kungsleden divests land for out of town retail in Eskilstuna

Kungsleden has signed an agreement with Eskilstuna municipality regarding the sale of the Skiftinge 1:3 property in Eskilstuna. The property currently consists of land designated in the zoning plan for out of town retail.

“The development of Skiftinge has been delayed and out of town retail is not currently one of Kungsleden’s strategic property segments. Therefore, we responded positively when Eskilstuna municipality expressed an interest to acquire the land in Skiftinge. We now have the opportunity to focus even more on developing our attractive office and retail spaces in central Eskilstuna,” says Frida Stannow Lind, Head of Property Development at Kungsleden.

The purchase price amounts to SEK 19 million and the transaction does not affect operating net as it consists purely of land. The municipal council will make a decision on February 14 on the acquisition and it is then expected to gain legal force after five weeks.
