4th International EcoSummit 2012 Resumes in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 2, 2012) – For the first time in the United States, EcoSummit 2012 is gathering more than 1,500 scientists, economists and corporate leaders from 75 countries to discuss proactive ecological solutions in these changing and challenging global times.

Top Headlines from Day Two of EcoSummit 2012: Tuesday, October 2, 2012

  1. The most dramatic imagery surrounding climate change is often the result of flooding. Dr. Wolfgang Junk of the Max Planck-Institute for Limnology, Plön, Germany, reviewed changes in floodplains and how they impact our world and economy.
  2. Wetlands are a key battleground in preserving our ecology. Ohio State University Professor Dr. William Mitsch showcased how ecological engineering can restore wetlands and what that means to the larger global ecosystem.
  3. Ecological modeling is a constantly evolving tool in ecological preservation. Sven Erik Jorgensen, Professor at the University of Copenhagen, documented the latest concepts and how they can help local lakes and wetlands.
