Pillows for Soldiers Strives to Give Every Soldier the Gift of Many Good Night’s of Sleep
Marlborough, CT – November 16 – When troops return home following months or years of tremendous service and sacrifice a good night’s sleep can be an elusive goal. Extreme physical exertion, mental exhaustion, body strain and physical injury can often result in chronic pain making restful sleep extremely difficult.
David J. Busch, founder and president of Pillows for Soldiers, Inc., a not-for-profit public charity, is doing what he can to help. Since 2007, Busch has been on a mission to deliver comfortable, specially designed, high quality pillows to as many troops and veterans as possible.
“Sleep is such a critical part of healing and well-being. Providing these pillows is such a simple, easy way to honor our men and women for their tremendous sacrifice and provide a gift of nightly comfort,” says Busch. “This really is a calling for me and we won’t rest until we have met our goal.”
Currently, Pillows for Soldiers is on a mission to deliver 600 pillows to Camp Pendleton, California for the 1/5 Marines who are returning home. The cost to donate one pillow is $25. 100% of donations go directly to the purchase and delivery of the specially designed pillows.
As a wife of a Camp Pendleton Marine, Julianna Clemens knows too well the toll service takes and the great benefit Pillows for Soldiers provides, “When our troops return home so many of them want nothing more than to see their families and get a good night’s sleep. These pillows are such a wonderful gift. For less than a night at the movies you can provide ongoing comfort to these soldiers and I know they are extremely grateful.”
Busch agrees, “Every night when our soldiers and veterans lay down their heads, this gift not only provides the comfort of a good night’s sleep, but is also a nightly reminder of our gratitude for their service and sacrifice. As our mission statement states:
We hope that every time they lay their heads on their pillows, they know how much we all stand behind them, support them, admire them, respect them, revere them and thank them for their service to our country . . . and how God has blessed us with their selfless sacrifices, courage, dedication and commitment to protecting the freedoms we all cherish.”
All donations received go directly to the purchase of Snoozer body pillows, chosen for their special design created specifically to help improve sleep quality, promote proper spinal alignment, healthier blood circulation and reduce head, neck and back strain. In addition, the pillows are specifically designed to provide pain relief to aid injury recovery, a key benefit for many returning troops.
