Music by Take That, eulogy by Jason Statham and burial on the moon – Brits’ dream funeral revealed
A new infographic based on research* has been launched revealing the different ideas as to the perfect, money-no-object, funeral – with some interesting results!
The study, conducted across Brits aged 18 to 80, and carried out on behalf of Over50choices.co.uk, the leading over 50s comparison site, asked three questions:
If money were no object …
- Which band would you like to play at your funeral?
- Where would you like to be buried?
- Who would you like to speak at your funeral?
The results were diverse with bands including The Foo Fighters, Spice Girls and Metallica playing the music; eulogies given by Wayne Rooney, Kevin McCloud and Keith Lemon; and burials in the back garden, Disney world and outer space.
Commenting on the study, Ashley Shepherd, Managing Director at Over50choices, says: “The results of the research are a good indication of how funerals could change in the future. And although some answers are driven by current trends and the changing times we live in, it is good to see that at the heart of it, tradition still stands - with the largest percentage of those surveyed stating that they would want a family member to speak at their funeral; which of course has absolutely no cost whatsoever.
“It’s good to know that given a ‘money no object’ scenario, the nation still turns to the family at a time of need. And the cost – Priceless”.
