Press info: Bad website navigation means insurance providers lose 15% of sales
Insurance companies whose websites are hard to navigate are losing around 15% of sales, reveals new research* from internet marketing specialists Speedie Consultants.
The study of people’s insurance buying habits showed that 40% of people do not buy their insurance online. And while 32% said this was mainly due to concerns around payment security issues, 15% said they had tried to buy online and had given up due to a site being too hard to navigate.
Also, surprisingly, 13% said that while they wanted to buy online, they were not able to, due to their preferred provider not having a website.
Jason Hulott from Speedie Consultants says: “In a world where the Internet is King, it is surprising that some businesses still make the mistake of having a website, yet don’t carry out testing to see just how easy their service is to use.
“These are the companies who are likely to say that the internet doesn’t work, yet the problem could be with their website – not the web. With 60% of people now buying their insurance online*, it makes sense for insurance providers to make sure that, in the first place, they have a web presence. And secondly, that their service is easy to navigate.”
