Studybuddy UK celebrates one year!

Since the March 2015 launch, Studybuddy has helped over 300 customers and employed 200 students from London's top universities.

In March 2015 the leading Swedish tutoring company Studybuddy launched in the UK. The company is redefining the traditional tuition approach by exclusively employing current university students from London’s top universities as its “Study Buddies”.

“I’m very proud to say that we have already employed 200 of the brightest minds in London, typically from Imperial, King’s, UCL and LSE. Together with our tutors, we have been able to support well over 300 customers towards increased motivation and better results. Our tuition model has been received even better than expected on the London market and we are of course also very happy to be able to provide a meaningful part-time job for all of our Study Buddies” says Managing Director Max Henrikson.

While the model of using university students as tutors is a new phenomenon in London, it has been the go-to approach on the Swedish market for several years. Studybuddy started as a school project by four engineering students in Stockholm and the company has since its start grown massively and supported over 7,000 families in the last 11 years.

“Our long term vision is to cover all major European countries, and the UK is of course a major milestone in achieving our goal. Having now successfully launched in the UK, a tutoring market that is fundamentally different than the Swedish one, we are of course even more confident and motivated to continue the pursuit of our vision” says Stockholm based Group CEO, Jonas Larsson.

About Us

Studybuddy is one of Sweden’s leading private tutoring agencies experiencing huge growth since its conception in 2004. This is greatly thanks to the winning concept of tuition and mentorship provided by top university students. Studybuddy was founded by a four engineering students in Stockholm, Sweden. Realising the potential to share knowledge while still learning, they began intensive Maths courses for college students prior to their university entry exams. The concept was an immediate success. Studybuddy has since moved its focus to private tutoring, with the original courses assisting hundreds of students gain entry to university every year. Studybuddy expanded to the UK in October 2014 and the company is now hiring university students from the top London universities to tutor pupils in primary, secondary and college curriculums, offering advice and assistance on a range of areas including interview and exam preparation. Our concept or using student tutors breaks the conservative educational mould. In a country traditionally used to archaic teaching techniques far from the educational processes of today, more and more families are realising the positive aspects of hiring a young, ambitious and academically achieved student to guide their child. The Studybuddy UK story has just begun and the Studybuddy team are confident they will match you with the perfect tutor today.
