West Hollywood, CA (October 12, 2011) — Lose yourself in Fashion, Music and Culture on October 19th, as Gypsy 05 reveals their SS2012 RTW collection on the runway at the Historic Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. Inspired by the mystery and intrigue of the Native American culture, Gypsy 05’s highly anticipated SS2012 RTW collection is sure to awaken your senses and channel your inner-spirits. Always marching to the beat of their own drum, design-duo Dotan and Osi Shoham stay true to the name of their brand Gypsy 05 by taking a modern-nomadic approach to their SS2012 RTW collection.
The Gypsy 05 collection pays homage to the elements through a vibrant earth-toned color palette mixed with fiery prints. Luxe fabrics, lace insets and asymmetrical hemlines add a whimsical elegance, while fringe accents, belted detailing and paisley patterns offer something new for this celebrity-favorite women’s collection. Men’s silhouettes are relaxed, modern and functional, drawing influence from the environment’s organic components. Styles from basic tees and tanks, plush pullovers, antique henleys, functional cargo sweats, and cut-off sweats create the ideal lineup of men's motifs for this joint men’s and women’s runway presentation.
In celebration of Gypsy 05’s SS2012 collection, a VIP party will immediately follow the runway show. The event will premiere the music of Bad Decisions, featuring Jaco Caraco (Miley Cyrus) and Todd Morse (The Offspring) on Guitar, Alex Mercier on Keyboard, Bryce Soderberg (Life House) and Jeremy Piven on Drums. The evening, which runs until midnight, will also include a special guest appearance and will feature Paula Present’s PTERO Dance Theatre.
Gypsy 05 was established in the spring of 2005 by a dynamic brother and sister duo, Osi and Dotan Shoham. Based in Los Angeles, Gypsy 05 reflects the Southern California lifestyle, with a focus on effortless, comfortable clothing for women, men and children. Gypsy 05 is an artist brought to life, through interpretations of beauty, life, and culture. By gathering motivation from her surroundings, both Los Angeles and her native land, Osi tends to focus on elements, which revitalize the beauty of nature through fashion.
Gypsy 05 is more than a creative statement; it is an expression that stands to make a difference in the world. Gypsy 05 designs incorporate organic fabrics, organic soy softeners, low impact dyes, and seaweed extract printing in every collection. As part of the brand’s mission in environmental awareness, Gypsy 05’s headquarters is the first completely solar-powered dying, printing, and manufacturing facility in Los Angeles.
