Ernest distributes globally under Hahn Air Systems’ H1 code

Dreieich, 16th January 2017. Hahn Air Systems and Ernest signed an agreement which increases the virtual carrier’s visibility by allowing it to be distributed under the H1 code in all major GDSs worldwide. Globally, travel agencies can issue Ernest on the insolvency-safe Hahn Air ticket using the standard GDS ticketing process.

Ernest is an Italian virtual airline based in Milan, with its flights operated by Mistral Air (M4). Using 737-400 and ATR 72 aircrafts, Ernest serves over 15 Italian cities including Ancona (AOI), Bari (BRI), Rimini (RMI), Florence (FLR) and Milan Malpensa (MXP) from Tirana (TIA) in Albania.

Alexander Proschka, Head of Hahn Air Systems said “The entrance of Ernest to our network of partners will create additional benefits for all market participants. Ernest profits from increased ticket sales resulting in incremental revenue; our travel agent partners have access to even more carriers through their preferred GDS; and our H1-Air partner carriers can now be combined with yet another H1-Air carrier on the HR-169 ticket.”

“The substantial costs and challenges of global distribution have previously prevented us from taking our business to a global level”, says David Girhammar, CEO of Ernest. “With the economical and efficient solution provided by Hahn Air, we now have access to 190 markets via travel agencies worldwide.”

By utilising the H1-Air product, airlines which have a limited or do not have a GDS connection of their own are able to outsource all of their distribution needs to Hahn Air Systems. Using the standard GDS ticketing process, over 95,000 travel agents in more than 190 markets can issue these carriers on the Hahn Air HR-169 document.
