AcadeMedia announces a change in its Executive Management Team
On 1 December 2018, Paula Hammerskog will transition from Head of Communications to the newly created role of Head of Safety and Security at AcadeMedia. The new Head of Communications will be Annette Lilliestierna, who is currently in the role of Head of AcadeMedia Academy. At the same time, AcadeMedia has announced that AcadeMedia COO Tommy Jarnemark will leave the company on 31st December 2018 for a new position outside the group.
Ms Hammerskog and Ms Lilliestierna will both become part of AcadeMedia’s Executive Management Team. AcadeMedia has chosen to create this new internal group because safety and security have both become more important areas within the organisation.
Marcus Strömberg, CEO of AcadeMedia, said:
“Up until now, AcadeMedia has handled issues of safety and security within our communications department. From this point on, communications and safety and security will each have their own group within our organisation to reflect the priority we give to both of these critical areas.
While our students and other participants did not report any increase in how they viewed their safety and security in AcadeMedia’s most recent customer survey, the fact is that as a society, we are more aware of and concerned about these issues.
In addition, government figures show a small increase in crime, and the news media often gives the impression that society is a more dangerous place. Our schools are of course affected by these messages and the resulting social climate.”
Ms Hammerskog has been Crisis Manager for AcadeMedia for the past ten years. For the past year, she has also held the formal responsibility for security issues within the AcadeMedia group. Ms Lilliestierna exits her position as head of AcadeMedia Academy, the group’s centre for internal education. She is a seasoned communications professional, with extensive strategic communications experience within both the private and public sectors.
