Colchester, UK – 18 June 2013 – Access Group has announced it is to further invest in the not-for-profit (NFP) sector with the launch of a new dedicated division. The mid-market business and charity software provider has appointed Rob Barr, previously of Iris and Epicor, as divisional director for the NFP arm.

“As a company Access stands out from the crowd and is in a perfect position to establish itself as the number one supplier to the UK not-for-profit market. I believe this is an incredible opportunity and I’m delighted to take up the challenge,” said Rob, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the software sector.

“Access’ already strong portfolio of tightly integrated on-premise and cloud solutions has recently been bolstered by the acquisition of thankQ. I’ve been very impressed in terms of the product, the people and client satisfaction. My role is to build on the fantastic work that’s already taking place, to maximise potential and further support not-for-profit organisations.”

With 15 per cent of top tier charities already using Access solutions and more than 820 third sector customers in total, it has a solid base on which to grow. The acquisition of thankQ means Access now offers integrated financials and CRM fundraising where no solution previously existed in the marketplace. This is further strengthened by its HR and payroll solutions, and the recently launched Access aCloud platform which includes expenses, document management and business intelligence for finance professionals as well as team management and absence planning with TeamSeer.

“It’s exciting times for Access and I’m really looking forward to being part of this journey. I’ll be responsible for the direction of the product roadmap, ensuring it remains relevant to the sector, alongside the integration of new products into the suite through internal development and acquisition,” said Rob, whose career spans sales, consulting and project management, having implemented solutions into a broad spectrum of organisation from small fundraisers to the largest member bodies and charities.

“Access is a company that acts on its words. Its strategy is to grow organically in the markets it serves and identify complementary products to expand its portfolio. The new division, along with the acquisitions, further cements Access’ commitment to the NFP sector.”

Jon Jorgensen, executive director for Access, commented, “Rob has impeccable credentials and understands the not-for-profit sector to its core. His strong track record of delivering year-on-year organic growth will add incredible value to Access; Rob will be pivotal in helping us to take the business to the next level.”
