Clearswift, adaptive cyber protection services, has recently invested in business intelligence solution Access Insight, to significantly enhance reporting capabilities and visibility of information across the entire organisation. This will be used both internally and externally to help deliver improved work flow and greater customer services through accurate drill downs on key data.

Dr. Guy Bunker, chief technical officer for Clearswift explains, "We were developing a new product around information governance and critical information protection and knew we needed accurate reporting functionality. Our existing products have some reporting components we developed ourselves, but we wanted a solution with more flexibility - so we looked to the market place to find a suitable solution and a company we could partner with to report the data our clients need."

He continues, "The solution creates and manages very large quantities of data and the reporting element needed to be able to handle this effectively. The big data that is created and stored needs to be able to be mined and visualized quickly and efficiently. Flexible reporting with different visual dashboards for the data means this can be done in minutes rather than hours or days."

"The main reasons we chose to move ahead with Access were; ease of use for developing and embedding reports with flexible and efficient filtering on very large datasets and the ability for our clients to be able to define specialist audit reports. This will improve the ease of doing business," he adds.

Dr. Guy Bunker comments, "Having looked at various reporting components available on the market, we chose Access Insight as it offered the greatest flexibility and ease of use for our products and clients."

The use of the new business intelligence tool will give Clearswift's professional services team the ability to respond to request for specific reports. These are usually a variant on the standard reports that are provided, but up until now, the reports would have to be created and released through the R&D process - which takes time. The Access Insight solution gives the ability to respond to these requests in a more timely manner.
