Future Biogas focuses on finances with Access

Future Biogas has invested in Access Dimensions to make finance the core focus within the company. This will be made possible through inter-company collaboration and integration with other business management systems to streamline and strengthen financial processes.

Andy Simpson, financial controller for Future Biogas explains, "We decided to invest in a new system as the company has been experiencing rapid growth since it formed in 2010; our current software no longer offers us the support and functionality that we require, particular around inter-company collaboration."

Future Biogas looked for a solution that could consolidate and automate processes within the company to streamline operations and offer greater insight and control over the firm's processes to reduce the administration required from the finance department.

Andy adds, "One of the key reasons we chose Access was due to the functionality and the ability to control data within the software. As well as ease-of-use, the system has a similar appearance to the Microsoft Office platform." The implementation of a familiar interface makes it intuitive to use, with the ability to increase both control and visibility.

He adds, "Another key reason for choosing Access, is that the company is a British vendor and supplier of business management software." Access is able to offer customers and clients direct support, without the need to go through a third party, dealing directly with their end users.

"The benefits we're looking to see within the organisation following the implementation of Access is a huge amount of time saved with inter-company processes. This will allow us to strengthen the controls we already have in place, with the ability to access as much or as little data as we want depending on the individual needs of our users. We can then integrate all business functions with finance being the main focus," continues Andy.

He concludes, "I spent a lot of time looking into a new accounts package to replace our existing software and none were able to offer the same level of specification and functionality as Access. The fact that they are a British company and have therefore designed their software specifically for the British market is also a very positive point. I believe that Access software will allow us to become a lot more dynamic in terms of finance's offering to the business and will help us to achieve our continued growth."
