Mental health charity Jami People have scooped a £500 donation from Access Group (Access), following a twitter competition at Chase 2014. Access ran the competition during the exhibition, where they invited delegates to nominate their chosen charities to win £250. The combined total raised for charity climbed to £500. £250 was donated to Jami People and additional donations of 50p per #CHASE2014 hashtag used during the event.

The £500 will help Jami to continue to provide services to those with mental health problems such as; hospital visits, befriending, employment services, recovery education centre, independent living support, piers support and social enterprises.

Winner of the Twitter competition, Jayne Hantman from Jami People, nominated her organisation to win £250 – and secured the charity win by 30+ nominations from their supporters, using the Tweet; 'Hi @TheAccessGroup I would like to nominate @JamiPeople to win £250 at #CHASE2014'.

Jayne comments, “We’re incredibly excited we won, we’ll be putting the money towards a very good cause. By using the money we won from Access’ Twitter competition we can now send eight Jami People on a six week independent skills course.”

Rob Barr, NFP Divisional Director for Access Group, comments “We have had yet another successful year at the CHASE exhibition. The event provides us with the opportunity to meet with key decision makers who are keen to seek solutions from industry experts such as ourselves. CHASE is also an excellent opportunity, making the most of our presence by raising money towards Charity.”

He adds, “This year, we also achieved a high degree of interest through our sponsored seminar with Ian Fairhurst from Cardinal Hume Centre, who spoke on; ‘Effective Fundraising & Marketing’, which had more than 60 delegates attend.”
