LCG's two divisions consolidate data with Access Dimensions

LCG (part of the NORSAN GROUP) is an organisation built up of two divisions that share a central inventory; HGS andNORSAN UK. LCG plans to remove their old outdated system, reliant on manual entry and duplication of data, in favour of automated processes with Access Dimensions, to integrate and consolidate finances throughout the company.

Robert Wicks, Director for LCG explains, "Our old system and processes were completely outdated. We recognised that we had room for major improvement, as we operated a separate order processing system for each division and a separate combined accounts package. This proved to be a timely and costly practice for the company. We knew we needed a new system that could eliminate data duplication and expedite the day-to-day business processes."

Rob continues, "When a sale was made from either division, we previously had to manage that action firstly through either of the ageing HGS or NORSAN UK, SOP systems then duplicate that through a standard Sage accounts package. This resulted in us re-keying data. This wasn't proving to be a viable option for anymore."

"With Access Dimensions we've eliminated that time consuming, data duplicating process as Dimensions automates and updates data thanks to consolidation, making it accessible companywide."

He continues, "With Access, we get the whole process in one system - everything from; accounting ledgers, credit control, sales, purchasing, stock management, system security and greater control and visibility of data and documents." For LCG the victory was eliminating the re-entry of data between the two subsidiaries and having a much more advanced platform from which to run business reporting and intelligence.

Ian Roper, SCS Divisional Director for Access Group explains, "With the implementation of Access Dimensions, LCG now has the ability to consolidate information and data. This is important for the two divisions within the company where they share the same stock. Previously LCG had multiple pathways between the divisions to complete an order. Now with Dimensions, LCG will reduce that to one automated process."
