The National Ice Centre (NIC), is an organisation that boasts great success with significant growth, but has exceeded the functionality of its previous accounting systems. NIC has now invested in modern solutions from Access Group, with Access Dimensions, FocalPoint & Access Document Manager (ADM), to improve analytics and reporting capabilities.

Lindsey Rogers, Financial Controller for National Ice Centre, explains, "The reason we chose to invest in Access was that we out-grew our previous accounts management software. It was time to scale up, as we now had new requirements. We've responded to those needs with Access."

Lindsey explains, "Initially we were just looking for a new accounting package to improve our productivity. But then we learned that Access could offer us additional solutions, which would allow us to enhance management further. We made an informed decision to implement FocalPoint & ADM to utilise more Dimensions' functionality, creating a synergy between both financial, cost and project management."

Lindsey elaborates, "With Dimensions & FocalPoint's integration, we'll now be able to produce detailed cost reports and improve efficiencies whilst having greater visibility of financial information. This will save us a huge amount of time. Whereas previously, we'd manually handle processes to produce reports." With real-time updates over financial positions, NIC will be able to drill down on important cost information, with the ability to analyse data in detail.

"With Access Document Manager, we'll also be producing online purchase requisitions, as well having greater document storage and visibility. This will again benefit us by providing an efficient, document management system staff can access throughout the organisation," continues Lindsey.

She adds, "What we liked most about Access, is that as a company they could offer everything from one author. Whereas, if we looked elsewhere to find an alternative to ADM, it would have been outsourced. We feel more comfortable dealing with one provider."

The solutions Access has provided NIC, will eliminate any unnecessary data re-keying, whilst having accessible information from one consolidated database. This will further streamline processes, whilst integrating with back-end financials. Contributing to the greater management of National Ice Centre's financials and reporting."

"We're really looking forward to drilling down on crucial information and utilising new processes. This will really help streamline our organisation's development," she concluded.

Steve Sawyer, PSS Divisional Director for Access, comments, "Access is able to offer a range of core solutions that customers find easy to use and extremely effective. The wide suite of functionality provided by Dimensions, FocalPoint & ADM further adds to the opportunity to scale upwards in a fast growing business like NIC. Integrated solutions really set the foundations for effective business management."
