National Landlord Association add real value to their data with Access

The National Landlords Associations, the leading association for private residential landlords in the UK, accumulates a substantial amount of data on its members and their interaction with the organisation, but does not have an effective method of gathering or presenting it. As a result of this the organisation is introducing business intelligence tool Access Insight to improve understanding and deliver enhanced services based on detailed data analysis.

Richard Lambert, chief executive officer for NLA comments, “The organisation has reached the stage in its development where the limitations of existing methods of data capture and analysis could limit our insights into the intelligence we hold, and so prevent us from realising the potential to grow membership and increase revenue.”

Richard explains, “We needed to find a way to visualise the data we have, and present it in a way that is easily understood at all levels of the business, so that everyone understands how the business is performing and can see the contribution that their efforts make to the overall achievement. Our ideal was to find a dynamic system which would produce both standardised reports at set times, for example, monthly or quarterly, that updates and analyses in real time. We also looked for a system which would be flexible, so that we could adapt it to our specific and changing needs.”

“We decided to build a relationship with Access based on the people we dealt with, they were open, accessible and willing to work with us. The combination of an established company and their product reputation was supported by their impressive client base. Access were further intent on understanding our needs in detail and demonstrated their willingness to support our organisation.”

Richard continues, “The quality of visualisation of data via dashboard with Access Insight enables us to easily drill down in detail with the capacity to deal flexibly with a wide and variegated datasheet. This will allow us to better understand our performance, as we will be able to produce a wider range of more accessible reports. Insight will give us control and visibility over KPIs. All these factors will improve our intelligence and insight as an organisation enabling us to better our decision making.”

He concludes, “We were looking for a long-term partner who will support us in developing the National Landlords Association as a business and help us gain a better understanding of our members to improve our service to them. Access has the product we need, but the more important consideration for us is that they were willing to go the extra mile to understand our needs and show us how Insight would meet them.”
