The ethical member run phone company, Phone Co-op Ltd. has experienced significant growth over the last decade and has recognised that there is room for improvement with their accounting software and processes. The broadband and mobile provider has invested in Access to drive performances forward.

Lisa Logan, Chief Financial Officer of the Co-operative Phone and Broadband division, explains, “Over the last 10 years we’ve seen a significant amount of growth, which prompted our decision to introduce Access Dimensions. We had outgrown our previous software and have responded to that with the investment into Access.”

She continues, “There were three main reasons we decided to move forward with Access; scalability, the reporting and analysis functionality within Dimensions and the integration into our other systems.”

Lisa elaborates, “Having Access will mean fewer manual work-arounds and better in depth analysis of our accounts.” The Co-operative has responded to growth by ensuring that they retain efficiency. By reducing manual tasks, the ability to streamline processes allows the organisation to sideline basic responsibilities in favour of becoming more strategic.

“The modular design and drill down functionality will enable our reporting and management information to keep pace with our business growth,” comments Lisa.

Due to the volume of transactions being processed, over 11,000 a month, their previous system is deemed very slow. In addition it has been identified that streamlining several manual processes around reporting, expenses and purchase requisitions will be very beneficial for the business.
