The Bath & Wells Diocesan Board of Finance (Bath & Wells DBF) is seeing significant benefits following the implementation of Access Dimensions & FocalPoint from Access Group (Access) during 2012.

20 February 2013 – Colchester, UK – The Bath & Wells Diocesan Board of Finance (Bath & Wells DBF) is seeing significant benefits following the implementation of Access Dimensions & FocalPoint from Access Group (Access) during 2012.

Nick May, Director of Finance at the Bath & Wells DBF said, “Our previous finance solution had a less than satisfactory interface with Excel, there were no real-time updates and reporting was both labour intensive and time-consuming.”

The Bath & Wells DBF has found that the new solution has helped to improve efficiency and the standard of financial reporting. “We were spending a great deal of time analysing accounts.  Now the reports produced are more timely, relevant and accurate.  The information we need is more readily available, making for easier production of the departmental management accounts and charity fund reporting. We can more readily analyse and monitor the income and expenditure across the organisation, and can drill-down in ways we couldn’t before,” continued Nick.

At the same time, the system was made to integrate with property management software Propman used with regard to the diocese’s clergy housing.  “With some 260 properties to maintain, a large number of purchase orders are being raised and purchase invoices being received from suppliers monthly.  With this integration, purchase invoices now only have to be input once saving staff time.”

The organisation more recently has moved from manual to computerised sales invoicing using FocalPoint. “This has again helped to eliminate duplication of work across departments and improved reporting,” concluded Nick.
