AddLife acquires Fischer Medical ApS

AddLife is strengthening its position within advanced surgery in the Nordic market through the acquisition of Fischer Medical Aps (”Fischer Medical”) for inclusion in its Medtech business area. Fischer Medical is a distributor of medical instruments and  implants for orthopedic surgery and non-invasive gynecology with operations in the Nordic market with a stronghold in Denmark and revenues of approximately SEK 60 million.

Fischer Medical is a Danish company specialized in advanced surgery representing well recognized suppliers from all over the world. The company has a leading market position in Denmark regarding medical instruments and implants for elective orthopedic surgery and non-invasive gynecology and with their service-focus and high product competence we see a strong fit with AddLife.

The acquisition strengthens our presence within advanced surgery in the Nordics and opens up opportunities for co-operation with our other companies in Europe active in the same market segment.  Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, elective surgeries have been postponed which has created large backlogs in many countries. The refocusing  within the Health care sector from covid-related treatments to elective surgery is indicating an increased demand for the offering from Fischer Medical.

Fischer Medical has annual revenues of approximately SEK 60 million and 12 employees based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company has its own sales organisations in Denmark and Sweden but has also limited sales in Norway and Finland.

The transaction closes today and is expected to have only a marginal positive effect on AddLife’s earnings per share in the 2021 financial year.
