AddSecure achieves prestigious LPCB certification for its NGP portfolio
These strict European security standards ensure prompt and reliable alarm transmission, provide resistance to tampering, and guarantee ongoing compliance through regular LPCB surveillance checks.
AddSecure’s Next Generation Portfolio (NGP) range has achieved the safety stamp of approval by obtaining the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) provided by BRE Global Ltd.
The certification confirms the NGP range of alarm signalling devices meet the comprehensive requirements of European security standards, including EN 50136-2-2013 and EN 50131-10-2014, which focus on ensuring alarm signals are sent promptly and reliably and that equipment is resistant to deliberate tampering. The rigorous certification criteria include, but is not limited to, monitoring transmission times, quickly and reliably detecting and reporting system faults or transmission path failures and maintaining a consistently high product performance. The regular and ongoing surveillance checks required by the LPCB certification ensure our products continue meet these demanding requirements throughout the product’s lifespan.
In many areas AddSecure’s NGP portfolio excelled beyond the requirements of the EN standards, including in critical areas such as reporting times. The IoT connectivity provider’s Essential IP SP2 alarm is able to report path failure in just one hour rather than the minimum time of 25 hours as stated in the standards for ATS category SP2, demonstrating how advanced Addsecure’s technology and service is for customers.
The LPCB certification also includes a UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) mark, certifying AddSecure’s range of dual path signalling products, including the Advanced Range, Essential Extra and Ultimate meet the EN 54-21 standard and are in accordance with the legal requirements of the Construction Products Regulation. This demonstrates the products meet the strict performance requirements and reliability expected of components used in fire alarm system applications. In addition, BRE Global Ireland issued the products with Constancy of Performance certifcates to support CE Marking. Both certifications mean the dual path range are all suitable for use in Category P systems and the Advanced Extra DP4 and Ultimate models can be used for Category L type fire systems.
European leader AddSecure, launched its full portfolio last year in the UK, through its successful collaboration with BT Redcare to migrate their alarm signalling systems to AddSecure’s NGP platform. Their range comprises of six products, including both fixed IP and wi-fi connected models, as well as single 4G or dual path options with Fixed IP + 4G back up and Dual Radio 4G + 4G.
Gary Timmins, Global Head of Built Environment & BRE Group Ireland Lead, LPCB said:
“The EN 50131 and EN 50136 standards serve as cornerstone standards for assessing the effectiveness of intrusion alarms. By achieving LPCB certification in accordance with these rigorous standards and robust testing, AddSecure UK have demonstrated they understand what their customers require from equipment used in modern security systems.”
Nicholas Whiting, VP Alarm Signalling at AddSecure, said:
“As a newcomer to the UK marketplace, it was critical for us that we demonstrated our products not just met, but surpassed, British and European standards for alarm signalling systems. Our business is always striving to ensure that our products are the most safe, secure and reliable on the market and we feel the BRE certification further demonstrates that excellence.
“Standards are continuously evolving, as are newer challenges like cybersecurity concerns. Installers want a system that they can trust has the latest technology to give peace of mind. The Loss Prevention Certification Board has given us their stamp of approval meaning installers and ARCs should feel more confident that our products are not just functional, but exceptional.”
