With NGP SafeCall, customers will benefit from a secure and simple PSTN line replacement.

AddSecure launches a new solution, NGP SafeCall, to help upgrade legacy analogue equipment before the UK’s PSTN switch-off on 31 January 2027.

In a bid to reduce systems failures likely to be caused by the PSTN shutdown, AddSecure’s latest solution aims to help facilities managers and installers easily connect legacy equipment to the 4G network ensuring equipment continue to work after the switch-off.

With many systems still relying on the PSTN to communicate, the IoT solutions provider AddSecure has designed NGP SafeCall, a 4G VoLTE solution that uses a built-in dial capture port to minimise the need for equipment to be reprogrammed, rewired or replaced. Failing to update legacy systems that rely on PSTN could open businesses up to significant risk, especially if the systems fail without warning or notification.

The new solution offers a simple way to connect legacy equipment such as lift line auto diallers, speech dialler systems, public safety systems, and other systems and devices. It has been designed to help those affected by the PSTN switch-off overcome outdated technology with minimal disruption. The technology has dual SIM cards for best possible coverage, 12-hour battery backup and other smart features such as Intelligent Battery Management to extend battery life and real time alerts to improve response to system failure or downtime, making it reliable and future-proofed.

Nicholas Whiting, VP Alarm Signalling at AddSecure UK, said:

“With the PSTN switch-off fast approaching, NGP SafeCall offers a simple, reliable, and future-proof solution for connecting legacy equipment with the added benefit of monitoring, allowing for early detection of any issues. The solution has been specially designed using existing NGP technology in order to make the transition to 4G as seamless as possible for customers, technical managers and installers."
