Vehco Eco-Driving Challenge reduced emissions with 4 810 tonnes of CO2
During 2018, more than 9000 drivers participated in Vehco Eco-Driving Challenge. The competition was a great success where about 60 companies with approximately 4 200 vehicles participated. Vehco’s estimations show reduced CO2-emissions of about 4 810 tonnes and a reduction of the fuel consumption by about 1 822 100 liters of diesel for the companies that competed. For the customers, this also meant reduced fuel costs by approximately 2 004 100 €. Ahola Transports won the most pristigeous prize as the European Champion.
Göteborg, Sweden - Addsecure-owned Fleet Management Systems provider Vehco, today announced the results from its competition within Eco-Driving 2018. The competition, called "Vehco Eco-Driving Challenge", is voluntary among Vehco’s customers and it is based on the Vehco Eco-Driving Index.The indexis based on six driving parameters thathave a great influence on the driving behavior. The driving behavior has improved during the competition. When Vehco analysed the data, the improved behavior proved to deliver major fuel savings. Vehco's estimate shows thatthe competing companies reduced their total consumption by approximately 1 822 100 liters of diesel, resulting in reduced CO2 emissions of approximately 4 810 tonnes and savings of about 2 004 100 €.
To make the competition even more exiting, the 60 competing companies were divided into 6 different classes based on country (SE, NO, FI, DK, DE, FR) and in a class for bus operators in Europe . Further Vehco has also followed the companies with the best improvements during the year and best Eco-driving momentum. Ahola Transport won the European Champion title
Finally, Ahola Transports became the European Champion, winning both the Finnish class and totally. See the winners in each class in the table below.

Best improvers
In the Challenge, it is also possible to win prize for the best yearly improvement of the Index and the best Eco-Momentum (number of drivers x index improvement). There were many companies with great improvements and among them Götene Kyltransporter (SE) and Intercargo Scandinavia (DK) stood out with exeptionel performances, see table below.

Great commitment among customers
During the Challenge, the interest from Vehco'scustomers has grown and people who are working to improve driving behavior and reduced fuel consumption/environmental impact have shown a great commitment for the competition.

Award ceremony
Vehco invited the winners of the competition to a prize ceremony at its headquarters in Gothenburg on March 1.In conjunction with the ceremony, the different companies shared their experiences with each other and Vehco how they worked to succeed in Eco-Driving.
