The North East office of national law firm Irwin Mitchell has once again received top rankings for its personal injury and clinical negligence work from the leading industry publication, Legal 500. Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle office, which represents clients across the North East and Cumbria, has achieved top tier rankings from the independent report – which surveys all UK law firms – in both specialist categories. In the Personal Injury category, regional managing partner John Davis was described as ‘in-depth and highly efficient’ while the team was praised for offering ‘very high standards in preparation of cases and presentation of materials’. Roger Maddocks, partner and industrial illness expert, was recommended for his attentiveness and diligence, while partner Fran Mayes was commended for her ‘in-depth knowledge of the problems associated with brain injury.’ The firm’s Clinical Negligence Team was commended by the Legal 500 for its ‘polished Newcastle offering’ which is ‘highly sought after in high-value birth trauma and catastrophic brain and spinal injury cases’. The firm’s ability to call on ‘a fantastic resource of talent and experience’ including associate solicitors Angela Kirtley and Jennifer Cawthorne was also illustrated by the report. John Davis said he was delighted with another year of outstanding results. He said: “Yet again we have received top rankings which is excellent news for the business. “I firmly believe that our success is a direct result of our clients-first approach. Our clients have sustained are injury – often serious – through no fault of their own and as a result of someone else’s negligence. “The work we do helps our clients and their families rebuild their lives from serious injury and, in many cases, funds a lifetime of future care, support and a better quality of life. “This requires an especially high level of care and client service, which is strongly supported by the continuing hard work and dedication of everyone across all levels of the firm.”
