Shipley College Celebrates World Heritage Day

A unique collection of memorabilia associated with one of Yorkshire’s most famous industrialists will be on display at Shipley College as part of Saltaire’s World Heritage Day celebrations. A selection of artefacts and images from the Saltaire Archive will be on display at the college, which is based in the UNESCO world heritage site of Saltaire, the village built by the wool baron Sir Titus Salt, on 16th-18th April 2011. The people of Yorkshire are being urged to get to grips with their gardens this spring so that they flourish in summer. Budget 2011: Shipley Principal Welcomes Extra Apprenticeships

The Principal of a leading Yorkshire college, Nav Chohan, welcomes additional support for apprenticeships outlined in today’s budget. As the Chancellor George Osborne promised an extra 40,000 annual apprenticeship places, Nav Chohan said: “An apprenticeship enhances the skills and training of young people and gives them the opportunity to experience employment while also receiving continued support from, and spending one day a week at, the college.
