Argon for Double Glazing
Argon gas is being increasingly used as an insulator between the panes in sealed double glazing units. These Insulated Glass Units (IGU’s) show far improved thermal properties compared to non-filled windows and when combined with other insulating technology such as low emissivity glass such units can fully comply with the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations. Argon in small quantities can be supplied in traditional cylinders, however most IGU filling operations are now taking advantage of the benefits of using CryoService liquid argon for their glass processing.
