Statue of "Wisdom" unveiled

A new statue was unveiled on Saturday at St Deiniol’s Library in Hawarden, Flintshire.“Wisdom”, created by Tom Waugh, the prize winning stone carver and grandson of the novelist Evelyn Waugh, was commissioned by the Library in 2009 as part of the Library's celebrations to mark the bicentenary of the birth of William Gladstone. Tom Waugh, a sculptor and architectural stone carver based in Somerset, trained at the City and Guilds of London Art School and has been the recipient of scholarships from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and the Princes Foundation.
