Aesculap, Inc. to Participate at AANS 2013 Annual Meeting; featuring the Miethke proSA™ Shunt Valve – Booth 1730
Center Valley, PA (April 26, 2013) – Aesculap, Inc., a leader in neurosurgery and surgical technology instruments is pleased to announce its participation at the AANS 2013 Annual Meeting from April 29 – May 1, 2013. The meeting will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
AANS will mark the U.S. launch of Aesculap’s global awareness campaign, “We understand the gravity of the situation.” The goal of the campaign is to highlight how Aesculap, Inc. strives to understand both the significant challenges faced by the surgeon, and the serious needs of the Hydrocephalus patient. Aesculap-Miethke gravitational shunt systems are based on the understanding that every patient is unique and deserves the best valve available to help them live a normal, healthy life.
The latest example in innovative shunt technology is the Miethke proSA™ valve; the adjustable, gravitational shunt valve which offers surgeons treating Hydrocephalus the most flexible shunt system available, allowing the surgeon to provide the best treatment options to their patients.
- Gravitational - Provides drainage protection in the upright position
- Adjustable - Allows for independent control of lying and upright pressures
- Flexible - Wide pressure range of 0-40 cm H2O offers the most treatment options
- Safe - Integrated MR brake helps prevent setting changes in 1.5 and 3.0T MRIs
Christoph Miethke, President and Head of Research & Development at Christoph Miethke GMBH & Co. KG, will be attending AANS and available to answer questions about proSA. Surgeons may visit the Aesculap booth to meet Miethke and learn more about the entire shunt valve portfolio.
In addition to proSA being on display, the Aesculap, Inc. Booth 1730 will also feature its latest developments in surgical technology for neurosurgeons:
MINOP® InVent: A solution for the bi-manual resection of solid tumors and cysts, increased capacity to perform hemostasis and coagulation, and extended working range thru angled instrumentation.
Hi-Line XXS: A high speed power system with a unique bayonet-shaped handpiece provides best in class visibility and improved maneuverability. Hi-Line XXS is not cleared by the FDA for use in neurosurgery.
KAIRison™ : A Pneumatic Kerrison Bone Punch provides surgeons with excellent control and feedback with reduced physical effort; resulting in a declined risk of reduced motor skills through fatigue.
