Aesculap Implant Systems announces a new surgical animation that presents a total hip solution that represents a new level of precision and performance, featuring the Metha® Short Hip Stem and Plasmafit™ Pro acetabular cup with Vitelene™ liner. The Aesculap Total Hip Solution animation demonstrates the ease in accommodating the Direct Anterior Approach for Total Hip Arthroplasty. The Aesculap Total Hip Solution combines anatomic accuracy, long-term stability1 and dynamic implant options, delivering a high articulation total hip joint.
- Metha Short Hip Stem: The Metha Short Hip Stem is designed to achieve true metaphyseal anchoring for Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA). The combination of a bone conserving design and anatomic accuracy have proven to meet the needs of both patient and surgeon. The optimized design of the stem provides advantages over traditional shortened stem systems.
- Plasmafit Pro Acetabular Cup: The Plasmafit Pro Acetabular Cup System consists of a cementless titanium acetabular cup and a vitamin E blended, highly crosslinked ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) liner. The system provides high implant stability, increased implant surface and an easy surgical technique.
- Vitelene Liner: Vitelene is a vitamin E blended, highly crosslinked polyethylene acetabular cup liner for use with the Plasmafit Pro cup. It is formulated with antioxidant protection that provides excellent wear and oxidation resistance and balanced mechanical properties. Vitelene provides benefits versus conventional polyethylene or cross-linked polyethylene liners.
