Region Uppsala signs framework agreement on project planning with AFRY
Region Uppsala in Sweden has conducted a major tendering process, inviting bids for services within technology consultancy, in which AFRY was awarded first place in the category project planning.
Sixteen areas are included in the framework agreement: architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, structural building design, geotechnics, acoustics, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, supply of medical gases, electricity/telecommunication/data, control systems, fire protection systems, environmental services and building work environment coordination for planning and project planning (BAS-P). A significant part of the work will take place in buildings at the Uppsala University Hospital. The agreement will cover a two-year period, starting in January 2020, with the option of a further two years’ extension.

Region Uppsala has a clear sustainability ambition with the target of achieving the Swedish Environmental Building Certification (Miljöbyggnad) Gold and Silver for all hospital buildings that are being renovated. The Swedish Environmental Building Certification is an environmental certification system for buildings, based on Swedish environment targets, construction rules and Swedish building and management practices. There are three levels: gold, silver and bronze, which require different levels within the areas of energy use, indoor environment, materials and chemicals. AFRY has a long experience of working with buildings that achieve the criteria for the Swedish Environmental Building Certifications, as well as from working with certification and verification of these.
