    The city of Aalborg and ÅF lighting was awarded the first prize of the 14[th] annual City.People.Light award for its innovative urban regeneration project “House of Music Area” in Aalborg, Denmark.  “This is a wonderful way to end the overall renovation project of Aalborg waterfront.     Chiara Carucci of ÅF Lighting recognized as an influential lighting designer

    Forty outstanding lighting designers under the age of forty have received official recognition as part of this year’s Lighting Design Awards. Among them is Chiara Carucci of ÅF Lighting. Chiara Carucci is one of the up-and-coming lighting designers on a ’40 under 40’ list compiled especially to celebrate the 40th edition of the annual Lighting Design Awards. According to the organisers, the purpose of the list is to create attention for a new generation of lighting designers who are “more driven, diverse, collaborative, curious, global, tech-savvy and passionate” than ever before. “

    Stockholm Royal Seaport area transformed in lighting event

    On the evening on the 26 of November 2015, in cooperation with the City of Stockholm, ÅF Lighting conducted a lighting event in the Norra Djurgårdstaden area, also known as Stockholm Royal Seaport. With the help of some 130 volunteers, carrying LED torches and filters, the usually dark historic industrial area was lit up and transformed for the evening.     Daniel, please describe how you work with equal opportunities? I believe in recruiting the best people for the job, regardless of their background, gender, age, etc. Our Stockholm team consists of some 30 people, and features many different competencies, eleven different nationalities and almost as many women as men.We strive to create an open and inclusive team culture in which differences in background and skill are embraced. As I like to say, we’re all equally different. And I’m pleased to say that this seems to work: we have low turnover rates and we attract highly competent people.

    Senior lead architect Cecilia Ström, previously of Wingårdhs and White Architects, has joined the ÅF Lighting team in Stockholm. Passionate about light and lighting, she aims to connect architects and lighting designers, creating closer cooperation between the two professions.     ÅF’s Lighting team and Dundret ski resort are lighting up the film competition Chasing Light in Gällivare. ÅF is contributing with expertise and helps create magical environments after sunset using electric lights. Chasing Light is an annual film competition organised by Dundret ski resort, in which different teams film skiing and winter sports over a couple of weeks.
