Aktia was, again, the best Finnish asset manager in Morningstar's Finland Awards 2017. In the category of the best bond fund, Aktia's Corporate Bond+ was the only bond fund managed by a Finnish service provider, which made it to the top three.

Aktia was the best interest asset manager in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Further, Aktia was the only Finnish service provider in the top three in 2016 and 2017.

Every year, Morningstar grants awards to fund companies in three main categories (equity, interest and mixed funds) and to individual funds in six categories. In all categories, the review is based on long-term success and risk evaluation during the last five years.

- We appreciate the result very much because it is difficult for Finnish asset managers to be included in the global competition, says Jetro Siekkinen, deputy managing director of Aktia Asset Management.

- This is a token of long-term successful portfolio management based on our systematically developed competence in interest fund products, and our specialisation over the years is rewarded, says Siekkinen.

To make it to the top three, the company's funds need to have a very good, five-year profit/risk ratio in each asset category.

Aktia Asset Management has allocated its expertise to three main areas in interest asset management: global inflation loans, European corporate loans and government loans for developing countries.  Asset management is active, and the right signals must be identified in a massive flow of information. To be successful, you need to understand the economies of developing countries and what drives them, and the political risks.

It is not only institutional investors who benefit from the success of interest funds; private monthly savers can also enjoy Aktia’s excellent asset management.

Morningstar is a leading hub of independent investment research in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Each spring, Morningstar grants awards to funds for the previous year's accomplishments, but the review is also based on long-term success and risk evaluation.

Funds are always compared to other funds competing in the same fund category.  Awards are granted in six categories for funds and three categories for fund companies.

According to Morningstar, the top three of asset managers in 2017 are Aktia Asset Management, Fidelity and Invesco.

According to Morningstar, the top three of interest funds in 2017 are Aktia Corporate Bond+ (Juuso Rantala, Jonne Sandström), GAM Star Credit Opportunities and Schroder ISF Euro Corporate Bond.
