Aktia's year 2012 has started well

At Aktia's Annual General Meeting, Managing Director Jussi Laitinen gives his view on the beginning of this year:

  • Aktia's new online bank was launched with success in February 2012. The use of the online bank has increased, and the number of service requests has more than tripled. New functionalities will be introduced during the year.
  • In the first quarter, sales increased in most of our product areas, total sales clearly exceeding that of last year. Aktia gained more than 4,000 new customers.
  • The volume of funds managed in Aktia's asset management units improved substantially, and the market share of mutual funds increased to 6.95%.
  • The marketing campaign launched at the beginning of April is based on a deeper understanding of the customers' financial situation. As part of the campaign more than 10,000 customer have already calculated their life incomes.
  • According to preliminary figures 31 March 2012, equity per share (NAV) increased to approximately EUR 7.60 (31.12.2011; EUR 7.01) excluding the proposed dividend. This is mainly due to the positive impact of favourable development of the investment portfolios and the sale of the non-life insurance company .

Aktia’s outlook for 2012 remains unchanged; the operating profit for 2012 is expected to be lower than in 2011.
