Björn Mårlid and the Altris board have mutually agreed that Björn will step down as CEO, effective 4th of September, to pursue new opportunities. This decision follows a shared conclusion that new leadership is required as Altris enters the next phase of its growth journey.

“During Björn’s tenure, Altris has strengthened its position as a leader in its field. We have formed several strategic partnerships and advanced the production of our sodium-ion cathode material and battery cells. We want to thank Björn for his hard work and contributions to Altris and wish him all the best for the future”, says Torbjörn Sternsjö, Chairman of Altris.

“I am proud of the milestones that we have achieved during my time with Altris, and grateful to have worked with this talented, visionary, and dedicated team. Altris has been on a rapid growth journey since 2017, and I am convinced that the company’s momentum will only continue to accelerate. I will be cheering from the sidelines as I pursue new opportunities”, says Björn Mårlid, former CEO of Altris.

The board has initiated a recruitment process for a new CEO. While the search for a permanent replacement is conducted, the board has appointed CFO and Deputy CEO Christer Bergquist as interim CEO.
