Ambea publishes annual report with quality and sustainability report for 2022
Ambea’s annual report with quality and sustainability report for 2022 is published today on ambea.com and attach to this press release.
Mark Jensen, CEO Ambea summarizes the year:
“A stable year with positive growth despite a turbulent business environment. Ambea achieved its highest-ever sales during the year, which meant we could provide even more care receivers with support and assistance. Demand for elderly care and social care was favourable in Sweden, and Vardaga and Nytida showed a positive trend during the year. In Stendi, we worked with capacity adjustments and ensuring that we have the right staffing, which began to show results in the second half of the year. In 2023, we will continue working to strengthen profitability in Stendi. In Denmark and Altiden, the focus was on the integration of several acquisitions and creation of a stable and sustainable platform for future growth. In our smallest division, Klara, we completed a strategic transition during the year with both acquisitions and divestments, which will create even better opportunities moving forward.”
The year in brief
- In 2022, Ambea posted its highest-ever net sales and adjusted EBITA.
- Ambea continues to grow, and acquired five units and opened ten new residential facilities during the year with 409 care placements.
- Ambea launched its updated strategy for future-proof care. The aim of the strategy is to meet the growing need for care, strengthen Ambea’s market position and create long-term growth.
- In line with Ambea’s strategy, parts of elderly care in Stendi were divested and Klara divest its medical staffing services in order to focus on subscription services and specialised solutions.
- Due to the strong financial situation, the Board decided to launch a share buyback programme prior to the 2023 Annual General Meeting.
- For the second consecutive year, Ambea was included on Universum’ top 50 list of Sweden’s Most Attractive Employers.
- To reduce our carbon footprint, Ambea prioritises the phase-out of fossil-fuel vehicles. Electric cars were ordered during the year and in 2023, they will replace around 40 per cent of cars that run on fossil fuel.
- In 2022, 7,000 employees in Sweden completed one of Lära’s training courses.
- Due to the war in Ukraine, both Ambea and our employees have made donations to The Red Cross, SOS Barnbyar and UNHCR, which have operations across Ukraine and in neighbouring countries. Ambea’s purchasing processes were reviewed to ensure we are not purchasing from suppliers that are active in Russia. In Sweden, we have employed around 30 Ukrainian refugees.
